Paraguay University receives help from Canadian educator. Alfred Neufeld of Asunción, Paraguay, is thrilled to have found a resource person, Dr. Abe Konrad of Edmonton, to assist in the organization for the proposed Christian University in Asunción. Konrad visited Paraguay in the fall of 1999 to consult with the Paraguayan leaders on establishing the University, a cooperative venture of Baptists, Mennonites, and Anglicans. The government ministers of education of several of the countries (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay) have drawn up a "Memorandum of Intent" to establish a university accreditation organization. --MBMS International

Pastoral shortages in India and North America. R. S. Lemuel of India indicates that in India there are 837 congregations, but only about 197 trained pastors, including 81 church extension workers. This means that at the present time for every congregation to have a trained leader 640 persons are required. Jim Holm of California reports a survey that shows that over the next 10 years, a total of 571 pastors will be needed for North American Churches. --MBMS International.
