Recreation and Rest
Not all was somber and subdued. Phil Bergey of the U.S. was designated director of fun and action, and he succeeded in bringing out the boisterous in some members. Peter Stucky of Colombia.Above left: Bergey with his big ball. Above middle: Larry Miller, MWC Executive Secretary, and still a soccer champ; above right: Bedru Hussein, MWC Vice President, with his fearsome frisbee throw.
Peter Stucky of Colombia preferred another route to rejuvenation.

Gracious Hosts
Many generous persons in Guatemala gave countless hours and offered their international guests patience and good humor, in addition to food, beds, and transportation. Among them were Cesar and Alma Montenegro (left), overall coordinators; Maria Gracia (bottom left) and the other Focolare sisters who oversee the Mariapolis Center; Victor Martinez, (bottom center) local travel coordinator; George and Lois Zimmerman, un-ravelers of many baggage and visa problems; the cheerful grounds staff and their families (bottom right) at Mariapolis, and many, many others. Muchas gracias!
