This is a list of prayer requests from Mennonite and Brethren in Christ churches and organizations around the world. They are sincere concerns from sisters and brothers who seek prayerful and occasionally practical support.

Bring these requests to your congregation. Then, report back to this network on what your congregation did by clicking on "REPORT" at the end of each prayer request. Reporting lets those who made requests know that friends around the world are praying for them. Clicking on "MORE INFORMATION" will provide you with additional details on the prayer request (when available).

We bring this list to you in the hope that prayer may strengthen the witness for justice and peace in the global Anabaptist family.

May God bless you.

March 4, 2003 — An Open Letter to Mennonite Churches Around the World
Submitted by Jesus Village Church, Chun Chon, Gangwon Do, Republic of Korea

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ;

Over the past several weeks, you have undoubtedly heard much talk about Korea in the news. A lot of attention has been focused on North Korea's threat to resume the production of nuclear weapons.

As an Anabaptist Church, living in the midst of this Korean tension, we are appealing to Anabaptist-Mennonite Churches around the world to join us in prayer for peace and reconciliation. We invite you to pray for presidents Roh Moo-hyun of South Korea and Kim Jong Il of North Korea. Pray for other world leaders who may influence this situation for peace. And pray for Jesus Village Church and all the churches of Korea that God would use us to help bring about his will in a highly militarized context.

We join you in praying, "Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven."

March 14, 2002 — Prayer for Zimbabwe
Submitted by Ronald Lizwe Moyo, Youth Summit and Global Church Village, Zimbabwe

Let's start an intensive prayer chain for Zimbabwe. Pray this prayer and then forward to everyone in your address book. God bless you all!.

Heavenly Father, Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty, early in the morning, our song will rise to Thee.
Yes Lord, we hear your call for intercessory prayer, like the distant beating of ancient drums.

Mashonaland, Matabeleland, Manicaland, Midlands, Victoria Falls, the Vumba forest, the Eastern Highlands and Kariba waters.

Zimbabwe

The sunshine, the smell of rain on dry earth, the mountains, the bush, the baobab and Jacaranda trees, elephants and game, sugar cane, mosquitos and flying ants. — YES, we hear the drums.

Zimbabwe

Sovereign Father, we thank you for all the memories and pray for peace at this crucial time of elections. May Your Holy Spirit sweep throughout the whole country, bringing peace, freedom and unity to all our brothers and sisters. May this be a time for many to witness to Your Glory. We now place Zimbabwe and her people faithfully in your hands. Only You can turn sorrow into joy, tears into laughter. Thank you Father. We ask this through the name and blood of Jesus, our Lord and Saviour. Amen.
