NEWS RELEASE Mennonite World Conference (MWC) October 28, 2002 MWC Adds Office Staff In Zimbabwe STRASBOURG, France Ken and Marilyn Langeman, natives of Manitoba (Canada), joined the Mennonite World Conference staff in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, in October. Mennonite Central Committee has seconded the couple to MWC until after Africa 2003, next August's global assembly. The Langemans have worked for MCC since 1971, most recently in Akron, PA. Ken has been controller there since 1979 and Marilyn was the executive assistant in the MCC U.S. executive office after serving in various other administrative positions since 1987. In the late 1970s, they worked for MCC Canada in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Ken as project officer and business manager for the Canadian FoodGrains Bank and Marilyn in the executive office. From 1973 to 1976, they served with MCC in Congo (Africa). The Langemans will do staff work for various subcommittees in Bulawayo preparing for Africa 2003, as delegated by Dothan Moyo, national coordinator in Zimbabwe. Ken's work will include financial management and setting up accounting and reporting systems and Marilyn will focus on database work, printing production and be a liaison for MTS (Menno Travel Services). Sihle M. Moyo began full-time work as an administrative assistant in the Mennonite World Conference office in Bulawayo July 1. "I am excited by the challenge of organizing a big conference and interacting with internationals," said Sihle. A member of Pumula Brethren in Christ congregation in Bulawayo, Moyo has been the administrative secretary for the youth office of the BIC Church in Zimbabwe.
