World Assembly: Africa 2003 |
PRESS RELEASE Mennonite World Conference June 23, 2003 Books for Africa STRASBOURG, France Africa 2003 participants are encouraged to bring books with them to the Mennonite World Conference 14th Assembly in Zimbabwe in August. The books will be given to seminaries and Bible schools through the Books for Africa project. Wes Bergen, the Books for Africa project coordinator, will assign specific titles for people to bring, depending on funds and space available. New, high quality textbooks and resource material, rather than leftovers, are welcomed as gifts to God and to our sisters and brothers in Africa. People interested in this project should contact Wes Bergen. Please include details on how much space or weight you have available (remember that luggage weight restrictions within Africa are different than for traveling internationally) and how much money you can spend. Also mention where you are traveling for Assembly Scattered, so that books can be delivered to various regions and schools. People not traveling to Africa can get involved. A lot of books can be bought for the price of a plane ticket. Contact Wes Bergen at 107 W 27th St., North Newton, KS 67117; phone 316-283-0369 or e-mail wbergen@southwind.net. -- Mennonite World Conference release from a report by Wes Bergen |
